Hanukkah Shirts for Your Jewish Festivities

We have made tees in time for Hanukkah. I probably should add up front that we are not Jewish, but Christian. So we didn't know much about Hanukkah, but we did some research about the holiday so we could get as authentic as we could. Here's some stuff we learned:

  1. Hanukkah is not "Jewish Christmas." It is very cool and pre-dates Christmas.
  2. Ross was right about the Maccabees and Hanukkah miracle, which is that the oil lasted for eight nights when they needed to cleanse the temple. (That was a Friends episode where Ross wanted to teach his son to celebrate Hanukkah instead of Christmas).
  3. Jesus celebrated Hanukkah (John 10:22-3). It's actually called The Feast of Dedication.
  4. Some Christians celebrate Hanukkah over Christmas because Jesus celebrated it.
  5. The dreidel game is fun.
  6. It can be spelled Hanukkah or Chanukah, or other ways too.
  7. Challah bread, not just for Hanukkah but for Shabbat (Sabbath), is pronounced holla (like holler but without the "r"). Also, it's hard to make. If you want to try it, you may want to go to a Jewish bakery.
So as an outsider to the Jewish faith, I hope I did well in making a design that others will enjoy wearing. These tees come in five different colors and men's, women's and kids' sizes. If you are interested in the shirts, click on the title below the shirt to see it on Amazon.
