September is Pediatric (or Childhood) Cancer Awareness Month. We have battled pediatric cancer in our house three different times. Thankfully, he beat the cancer. But years later, we still are dealing with the side effects. In fact, we deal with the side effects every day. Decisions on how we school the kids and what we are having for dinner are still made with cancer side effects in mind.

We made two basic designs for this month. They are both in a yellow gold color. Gold is supposed to be the color of ribbon for pediatric cancer awareness. However, gold doesn't print well on t-shirts, so we did various shades of golden yellow.

We also had a hard time choosing a price point for our shirts. We debated about selling them at regular price and then donating the profits to charity. Or we could price them very low so everyone could afford them and those who wanted and were able to could donate the extra money to their favorite pediatric cancer charity. We chose to price the shirts low so we could get the word out. Our son had cancer three times, and we were poor. We didn't have the money to buy fancy shirts, even ones that gave the money extra money to charity.

These shirts are priced so that almost anyone can afford them. All but one are $12.99 (there is one, a premium tee, for $14.99 because premium tees are more expensive to produce). We also made lots of different designs so mom, sister, brother, survivor, warrior, and friends could have one to wear. September is Pediatric, Gynecological, and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

September is a very somber month for us at 4Craig. One of the our family members had pediatric cancer - acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He had it three times actually. So when Pediatric (childhood, as some call it) Cancer Awareness Month comes around, we try to make others aware. Because kids are still diagnosed with cancer every day around the world and kids are still dying from cancer.

Thankfully, for the 4Craig family, we survived it and are thriving. But there are others who weren't so fortunate. So it is for all the warriors, survivors, and those in heaven that have had to fight this dreaded disease we made this design.

Pediatric Cancer Awareness Shirts

Gold is the color of childhood cancer ribbons, but we decided to make the design in various shades of golden yellow because it prints better. It is a large ribbon made up of smaller ribbons, hearts, and suns.

Ovarian Cancer Survivor Shirt

September is also Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Although, we don't have personal experience with this cancer, our hearts are saddened that people are fighting it too. Teal is the color for ovarian cancer, so we made a teal watercolor design of the same shirt.

Women's Gynecological Cancer Awareness Shirt

Yes, ovarian cancer is part of woman's gynecological cancers. But we decided to make two different shirts so they can choose. I hope you like these design. Sometimes women's gynecological cancers get forgotten about because pink for breast cancer awareness starts showing up in September. But lets give these ones their due. These cancers can be called silent cancers because there aren't too many signs that it's growing in your body. So the more awareness the better.
